A new identity designed by Pentagram for iconic New York retailer Saks Fifth Avenue launches on January 2, 2007. After the jump, partner Michael Bierut describes the process behind the development of an identity with more variations than there are electrons in the known universe.
Supersonic presents over 320 striking pages of today’s best-designed music products with a focus on Independent and Alternative Rock as well as Electronica. In addition to abundant visuals, the book contains an informative foreword and features portraits of selected designers and companies, who are creating outstanding work in these musical fields. The diverse examples are structured into chapters with introductory texts that put each new subject into context for the reader.
Typography Today introduces the selected works of 88 designers from 15 countries. It traces the course of modern typography from pioneers such as Lissitzky, Tschichold and Zwart; to Emil Ruder, Karl Gerstner and Herb Lubalin; through to Wolfgang Weingart, Wim Crouwel and Kohei Sugiura. The new edition includes works by Neville Brody, April Greiman and Ahn Sang-Soo.
